Pontianak, September 11, 2025 – The Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) at IAIN Pontianak reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international academic culture by hosting an International Guest Lecture at the Postgraduate Building. The event, attended by the dean, faculty members, and students, featured two distinguished speakers: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jati Kusima Ali from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia, and Dr. Yusman Yacob.

In his keynote address, Prof. Jati emphasized that academic excellence must be grounded in clear annual targets—ranging from publications and collaborative research to student development and community contribution. He highlighted the value of benchmarking both nationally and internationally, arguing that strategic academic networking is vital for consistent and sustainable growth.

Dr. Yusman, meanwhile, shared his personal academic journey, including international publications indexed by Scopus and MyCite, conference presentations, and awards such as the Best Paper Award (SASEM 2017, Kuching) and the Young Research Service Award (IRSSM 7, Thailand). His message was clear: building a research portfolio from an early stage, engaging actively in scholarly forums, and maintaining consistency are key to achieving global recognition.

This lecture provided both motivation and practical insight for FEBI’s academic community. It demonstrated that international reputation is not merely an aspiration but the result of continuous dedication, systematic planning, and strong academic collaboration. For FEBI IAIN Pontianak, such initiatives serve as vital stepping stones toward positioning the institution as a hub of global academic excellence.
